Every football season brings something new, and this year is no different for me. For the past two seasons, I had the privilege of being a Washington Commanders season ticket holder. There was nothing quite like knowing I had my seat waiting for me on game day. From the excitement of walking into the stadium to cheering alongside thousands of fellow fans, being a season ticket holder gave me memories I’ll always treasure.
This season, however, life looks a little different. Because of changes in my finances, I won’t be renewing my season tickets. While that was a difficult decision, it’s the right one for me at this point in my life. Sometimes we have to make responsible choices, even when they’re not the ones we would prefer. But let me be clear, just because I’m not a season ticket holder doesn’t mean I’m any less of a Commanders fan.
I’ll still be watching every game I can. I’ll still be wearing my burgundy and gold with pride. And whenever my budget allows, I’ll be purchasing tickets to attend games throughout the season. It may not be every home game this year, but I’ll be there when I can, cheering just as loudly as ever.
Training camp is getting underway, and a new season is full of hope and possibilities. As fans, we all start the year believing this could be the season where everything comes together. That’s part of what makes football so special. One thing I’ve learned is that being a fan isn’t measured by how many games you attend. It’s measured by your loyalty. It’s about supporting your team through the highs and the lows, whether you’re sitting in the stadium or watching from your living room.
So yes, this season will look different for me. I’ll be picking my games carefully, celebrating every win, enduring every loss, and enjoying the journey one week at a time.
To all the Commanders fans out there, I hope this season brings unforgettable moments, exciting victories, and plenty of reasons to celebrate. And if you happen to see me at a game this year, don’t hesitate to say hello. Here’s to another season of football.
HAIL TO THE COMMANDERS!
