There is something special about the early morning that can’t be explained – it can only be experienced.
This morning, I found myself sitting on my front porch as the sun slowly began to rise. The neighborhood was still quiet, with only the gentle songs of birds breaking the silence. One by one, lights came on in nearby homes. A car passed by. A neighbor stepped outside. The world was slowly waking up, and I had the privilege of watching it happen.
As I sat there, I couldn’t help but think about God’s grace and mercy.
Life has a way of throwing challenges at us. There are days when the weight feels heavy, when the future seems uncertain, and when we’re simply trying to make it through one day at a time. Yet some how, God continues to provide exactly what we need. Maybe not always what we want, but always what we need.
This morning reminded me that every sunrise is another reminder that God’s mercy didn’t run out yesterday. His grace is still sufficient today.
As I listened to the birds singing, I thought about how they don’t seem worried about tomorrow. They simply sing the song God gave them. They trust the One who created them to provide for them. There is a beautiful lesson in that.
Sometimes we become so busy chasing the next thing that we forget to pause long enough to notice the blessings we already have. A porch. A sunrise. The cool morning breeze. The sound of birds welcoming a new day. The gift of another breath. These may come like small things, but they are reminders of God’s goodness.
I looked around my neighborhood with gratitude. It isn’t about having the biggest house or the newest car. It’s about having a place where I can sit, reflect, pray, and thank God for bringing me this far. It’s about recognizing that even through life’s struggles, I have been carried by His grace more times than I can count.
When I think about everything God has brought me through, I realize that I have far more reasons to be thankful than I do to complain.
Grace means receiving blessings we could never earn.
Mercy means not receiving the punishment we deserve.
Both are gifts from a loving God, and both are evident every single morning when we open our eyes to a brand new day.
So today, before the busyness of life takes over, I simply want to say thank you.
Thank You for another opportunity.
Thank You for your mercy that is new every morning.
And thank you for allowing me to sit on this front porch, breath the fresh morning air, hear the birds sing, and witness another beautiful day that you have made.
Today, I choose gratitude.
Today, I choose peace.
As you go through your day, I encourage you to take a few quiet moments for yourself. Step outside if you can. Sit on your porch, your balcony, a park bench, or simply look out your window. Listen to the sounds around you. Watch the world wake up. You may discover that some of God’s greatest blessings are found not in the loud, extraordinary moments, but in the quiet ones.
His grace is still enough.
His mercy is still new every morning.
And His blessings are all around us if we simply take the time to notice.
