I want to talk about the Tyler Perry movie Doing Life.I have always been a fan of Tyler Perry movies I find them to be funny and always hitting close to home sometimes. I had heard mixed reviews about the movie so my bestie and I sat down to watch it.

I from the beginning related to the plot of the movie. I understood the woman Anika and how difficult it can be to be in a relationship with an ex-con, Carousel because I was once in a similar situation.

And I didn’t realize until much later that when someone has spent a majority of there life in prison when they are released they are never truly free.

But I have digressed so back to the movie. In the movie Anika is rescued by an inmate from being raped and murdered. Carousel eventually reaches out to her and they write each other which eventually leads to them meeting and dating.

Then the relationship becomes complicated mostly because of her family. The jealousy of her older sister threatens to destroy the relationship but we learn that she has a dream of becoming a nurse which her older sister finds ridiculous and trys to deter her but she doesn’t let that stop her.

Then we find out that the older sister has been manipulative and had taken some money that the mother was awarded and spent it on the boyfriend and her, which was money that Anika could have used to go to nursing school and what was even sadder was that the middle sister had no clue.

By the end of the movie she realizes what she has and decides to stop listening to family and chooses love and because of that she starts nursing school.

I truly enjoyed the movie because it hit close to home in ways that I can’t explain fully. It’s a must watch.
